Towards a refined hypothesis
Rechecking all characters and codings, working towards a "final hypothesis" (Cotithene11.winc). Rearranging all characters in sequence.
Female sternum VIII character eliminated in light of high variability in outgroups and ingroup.
Recoding character relating to shape and orientation of paired sclerites in aedeagus, reflecting a likely reversal in Cotithene str.
Exhaustive search (whennig, mswap+ in WinClada) - two shortest trees; this time dic & str switching position as sister taxon to the remaining Cotithene species!
Assessment of shape and orientation of paired sclerites in aedeagus of Cotithene str reexamined; recoding to previous hypothesis results in only one tree!
