Host plant associations appear too variable to merit inclusion; little added resolution would be obtained. Cotithene dic & str once again share an assoication with Dicranopygium, a cyclanth genus, although at least in the latter case it is non-exclusive.

Separation of procoxal cavities delimits two major clades with Cotithene; tri is somewhat "intermediate", yet coded as homologous to the clade within which it is placed due to other homologies! Evidence is mounting that dic & str are sister taxa, in spite of a number of derived features in str.

Character of presence/absence of projection on head recoded (!) to homologize str with other Cotithene species - tentative, exploratory. Subsequently recoded to three states, non-additive. Length of egminal adodemes and aedeagal apodemes not too informative, especially when similarly variable outgroups are considered. Excluded for now.

"Crudely" coding some genital characters. Shape and orientation of paired sclerites in internal sac. Cotithene str is somewhat difficult to homologize: bearing some similarity to Terioltes.

Still two equally parsimonious cladograms. Looking at the optimizations now.
